WOLE ADEDOYIN

Wole Adeddoyin is a computer Analyst, Reporter, Literary organizer, Photojournalist, Award winning Writer, Blogger, Bible Scholar, HIV/AIDS Activist and Politician. He is a native of Ilesha, Osun State. He graduated from Wolex Polytechnics, Department of Computer Science in 2008.  Wole Adedoyin has facilitated and attended numerous ICT and writers training workshops across the country.

COMPUTER GUILD OF NIGERIA HOLDS ICT AWARENESS WORKSHOP FOR SECONDARY SCHOOLS THIS THURSDAY

The Computer Guild of Nigeria will on this Thursday organize a free ICT Awareness Workshop for some selected Public and Private secondary schools in Ibadan on the 27^th of February, 2014. In a report made available by the acting president of the Guild, Mr. Wole Adedoyin he said that the workshop is organized to enhance, educate and inform the participants on some important ICT issues for their educational development. Expected to deliver lectures are Mr. Yomi Fayemi of the National Library of Nigeria will be speaking on the Fundamentals  and Importance of Digital Libraries in Schools while Mrs. Ayanyemi also will be talking on the Social Media/Networking Tools – Merits, Demerit, Historical background etc. In the same Ladipo Adekitan Oluwaseun will be speaking on the “Fundamentals and Important of Various Search Engines, difference, merits, demerits etc.

Fagunwa Day Holds Next Week Thursday

On the 6^th of March 2014, the Amphi-theatre (the former house of the Nobel Leaurete, Prof. Wole Soyinka) University of Ibadan will accommodate secondary school students selected from different schools in Oyo State who will be participating in the readings of the Late D.O. Fagunwa Five Books – Ogboju Ode Ninu Igbo Irunmole, Igbo Olodumare, Ireke Onibudo, Irinkerindo Ninu Igbo Elegbeje, Adiitu Olodumare.

The aims and objectives of the programme are as follows

·        To encourage writing and reading in Yoruba Language among some selected secondary schools in the state.

·        To promote Yoruba culture, literature, traditions and values.

·        To give out award and reward young writers who are making use of their indigenous languages to write.

·        To appreciate the talents and works of writers who are using Yoruba Language to write.

·         To encourage upcoming and talented young writers in southwest on the use of their beautiful language in passing across useful and educative information across the globe.

Also outstanding schools and students will be recognized by presenting them prizes and certificates in the ongoing Fagunwa Literature Prize  organized for some selected secondary schools in the state. The prize was established in order to test the writing and reading abilty of the students in Yoruba language. Important dignitaries expected to grace the occasion are: Dcn.
